ABOUT US
Julia de Nahlik started her training with Meriel Howarth and subsequently worked for Louise Geddes in The Caelt Gallery. Julia set up her own studio in 1981 in Holland Park, London. Since moving to the West Country in 1992, Julia has broadened her client base, from working primarily with the Old Master Galleries, to doing increasing amounts of work for the private client market.
Although her studio is in Wiltshire she goes up to London to examine paintings for quotation purposes, appraisals and research, making deliveries and collections as necessary.
Her previous commissions cover paintings from the 16th Century to contemporary works, by artists from Stubbs to Mary Fedden, British, European, Australian, Chinese, American and South American, always in oil, usually on canvas but also on wood panel, copper, board and occasionally glass & paper.
In 2013 Julia cleaned and restored the painting of The Lamentation of Christ by Guiseppe Cades, behind the altar in Wardour Chapel.
